Ozon en Dolan bekroond op Filmfestival Toronto

Zondagavond 16 september zijn de winnaars bekend gemaakt van het Filmfestival van Toronto.

François Ozons DANS LA MAISON (met Kristin Scott Thomas en Fabrice Luchini) is bekroond met de Internationale FIPRESCI Jury Prijs in het Special Presentations programma.

De Jury over DANS LA MAISON: “For achieving an exquisitely crafted entertainment that blurs the distinction between the storyteller and the story told, and that assuages with playful complexity the tragedies of life with the consolations of art, the FIPRESCI award for Special Presentations goes to Francois Ozon’s Dans la Maison.”

DANS LA MAISON gaat op 10 oktober uit in België en 11 oktober in Nederland.

Naast Ozon is Xavier Dolans LAURENCE ANYWAYS bekroond als de Beste Canadese Film.
De jury: “For its breathless cinematic energy and its entirely new love story, the jury felt honoured to watch such unfettered genius at play. For Best Canadian Feature Film, we have unanimously chosen Xavier Dolan’s Laurence Anyways.”

LAURENCE ANYWAYS draait vanaf donderdag 20 september in de Nederlandse bioscopen.

Daarnaast werd tijdens het Filmfestival bekend dat LORE van Cate Shortland, reeds bekroond met de Publieksprijs van Locarno en die in Toronto haar internationale première beleefde, de Australische inzending is voor de Oscar Beste niet-Engelstalige Film van 2013.
